The Four Crosses was built in 1636 from old shipping timbers that are over 1000 years old. The history of the Four Crosses is as scary as the area it is built on. With sightings of spirits known to be called The Black Eyed Children, and loud screeching being heard. The most amazing find has been the Old Coachman's uniform, thought to be over 150 years and found behind the chimney breast. The building is certainly intriguing and has many stories of tragedy. Can you dare spend the night at the Four Crosses?
There has been many reports of ghosts and spirits within the Four Crosses. These include the sightings of a nasty male figure, children who are seen not only inside the Four Crosses but outside peeking through the windows. The most recent tragedy at the Four Crosses inn happened in the 1980's when it is said that a young boy ran out into the road outside and was killed by an on coming car!
Another tragic and mysterious story. Is that of a young baby, who died after falling from a table in the upper bar area. This was said to have occurred sometime in the 1800's. There are also many reports suicides in the building over the years and also sightings of a man in a coachmans uniform that is said to be the spirit of the man who's jacket was found behind the chimney breast.
